HAWAIIAN STYLE QUILTS® KUKUI COLLECTION
The Candlenut tree (Aleurites moluccana) is a large tropical southeast Asian tree. In Hawaii it is called the kukui tree, also Hawaii's State Tree. The seeds are used to make candles and it also produces a drying oil used in paint, varnishes, body oil and cooking oil. The beautiful flowers are used for the lei but its nut is probably more famous around the world for the lei.
